2024-8-1 "High-End Automotive Interior Design" Styling/CMF/Ambient Lighting Design Seminar

On August 1st, the "High-End Automotive Interior Design" Styling/CMF/Ambient Lighting Design Seminar, hosted by BAIC New Energy's ArcFox brand, was held at the Color Institute of the Art and Science Research Center of Tsinghua University.

The project’s main responsible person, Teacher Song Wenwen from TASCII, and the project group’s industrial design expert, Teacher Li Jian, presented the phased research progress and results focusing on three major research areas: “basic principles and methods of advanced interior design for automobiles, transformation trends of new energy vehicle interiors, and the unique characteristics of the Arcfox brand.”

Recently, China's electric vehicle industry is entering a period of rapid development marked by significant growth in production and sales, increased market share, policy support, and growth in exports. At the same time, electric vehicle manufacturers are also facing major challenges such as numerous brands and fierce competition. Driven by factors such as technological advancement, intensified competition, and business model changes represented by the internet industry, the interior design of electric vehicles is experiencing a stylistic transformation in terms of design language, CMF (Color, Material, Finish) application, and ambient lighting design.

The design of a high-end car interior should adhere to core aesthetic principles such as "harmony and unity, dynamic balance" and should align with the transformation trends of electric vehicle interiors. At the same time, it should construct a design language that carries the brand's cultural heritage and has a unique personality and high recognition, thus bringing consumers a safe, comfortable, and pleasant driving experience. Most importantly, starting with the design language, it establishes the brand's core appeal and recognition, enabling the brand to form a distinct personality in the consumer market.

The "CMF/L Advanced Sensory Enhancement Research" by BAIC's Arcfox brand will fully utilize the results of the seminars to promote the optimization of design concepts, providing underlying logic and basis for further CMF design.
