Institutional Framework

Tsinghua Art & Science Colour & Imaging Institute（TASCII）is a subordinate research institute of the Art & Science Research enter of Tsinghua University, and the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University.

 

The art and science research center of Tsinghua University is a university level scientific research institution established under the joint initiative of Mr. Wu Guanzhong and Mr. Li Zhengdao. With the approval of the Ministry of education, the art and science research center of Tsinghua University was officially established on May 24, 2001. The purpose of the center is to promote the combination of art and science, explore and build emerging disciplines that meet the development needs of the new century, improve the modern higher education system, inherit the excellent cultural tradition of Tsinghua University, and lay the foundation for creating world-class universities and first-class disciplines. The center is committed to building an interdisciplinary basic theoretical research and application research platform for art and science of Tsinghua University, a high-level academic research base and an international academic exchange center, and making experimental exploration for the cultivation of compound innovative talents.

 

At present, the center has six research institutes:

(5) Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences

(6) Interdisciplinary Institute of educational innovation
