Professor Stephen Westland

Professor Stephen Westland holds the Chair of Colour Science and Technology at the University of Leeds and is currently also Head of School of Design at Leeds. Before coming to Leeds he worked briefly in industry and held academic posts at the University of Derby and at Keele University. He has published over 100 refereed papers, articles and book chapters in the area of colour imaging, colour science, colour vision and colour design. He is a Fellow of the Society of Dyers and Colourists and in 2008 was awarded the Davies Medal from the Royal Photographic Society for his research into colour imaging. He is the founding editor of Colour: Design and Creativity in addition to being on the editorial panels of several other journals.
